We’re pleased to announce three excellent speakers:

Mary Reynolds – We are the ARK

https://wearetheark.org

https://marymary.ie

Having let go of her career as a garden designer in favour of helping people to create wildlife sanctuaries, which are called Arks. Acts of Restorative Kindness to the earth.

Mary started a movement of the same name which has spread around the globe, offering people a really hopeful way of being part of the solution to the crisis we are facing with the collapse of nature, our only home.

Join us on October 19th to hear Mary speak about how you can still have a garden that incorporates your needs, but by designing it as an Ark, it is also an opportunity to support nature and surround your home with hope and life. Weaving this web of life back together patch by patch. How empowering anybody with land under their care into a journey of ecosystem restoration, brings an unexpected harvest. Hope.

Mary is a reformed internationally acclaimed landscape designer who launched her career at the Chelsea flower show in 2002, the story of which was made into a 2016 movie called “Dare to be Wild”. Bestselling author, inspirational speaker, occasional television presenter and founder of the global movement “We are the ARK”, a practical groundswell movement that finally shifts the environmental game in nature’s favour. The time for gardens as canvases for our creative pleasure is over. Everything must change and if we are to save the planet, then we must start with our own patches of it. It’s time to reimagine our work as gardeners, to become leaders in the race to save our beautiful planet, to save ourselves.

Alyson Maier – Wild edible and medicinal weeds

https://www.greenheartherbals.com

Join Alyson Maier as she talks to us about the wild edible and medicinal weeds that have naturalised all over the world and have been the basis for her Herbal Adventures Series of books for children. She will discuss Dandelion, Plantain and Yarrow.

Alyson is an Australian naturopathic herbalist, award-winning tea curator and the author of a children’s herbal series of books. Coming from Australia, she connected with her European and traditional roots after she lived in Germany, which is where she became an avid forager, wildcrafter, and it was here that she remembered her role as a steward of the Earth. She has been initiated into a shamanic lineage of the ancient Q’ero people in Peru and she aims to connect people back to the Earth and our rightful place in nature.
