The Herb Society – Members’ Event
April 24 @ 10:30 am - 11:45 am
The Herb Society is proud to present our inaugural online members’ event. For members only and reserved for those who book a place we have a fascinating programme of short presentations from some of our Corporate Members:
Lucy Hockley, Weald & Downland Living Museum
Take a (virtual) walk through the 6 historic gardens of the Weald & Downland Living Museum. Learn more about the status of the household and the herbs, fruit, vegetables and even edible weeds they made use of in a variety of different ways in their daily lives.
Rachel Trenchard, Goosnargh Gin
Goosnargh Gin, founded by Richard and Rachel Trenchard, is a multi award-winning small batch distillery, based in the Forest of Bowland AONB. During the session Rachel will share how they decide on the particular botanicals to use in their gins and how one of their seasonal releases is helping to promote preservation and restoration of hay meadows.
Helen Kearney, Betonica
Taking a closer look at three seasonal herbs freshly foraged from medical herbalist course provider Betonica’s base at Elder Farm in Devon. Helen will be on hand to give us some tips for finding and utilising these fresh Spring herbs simply at home and explaining the health benefits they each provide
Raffle draws will take place throughout the morning with chances to win some great prizes courtesy of AEON books.
