This pocket size hardback has a coloured photograph for each of the 32 recipes divided into the four UK seasons. The author is a professional forager who invites the reader to discover plants in urban environments.

I have tried many of the recipes and found them to be easy to follow and a success, something that surprisingly not all recipe books are.I also like how he makes suggestions to vary the recipe with “alternative ideas”. There is a handy bookmark ribbon, foraging tips and a lookalikes section of dangerous plants to avoid.

This little book is well presented throughout with great photography. The London based publishers have a special interest in books that are artistic and beautiful, this would certainly be a lovely gift to anyone who has a copy.

Foraging is an enjoyable pastime and for some a way of life. This book will encourage the reader to get out there and give it a go, there is more to life than supermarkets and reconnecting with nature will bring many positives to our lives.
