We’re pleased to announce our second and final online event of 2026.
Once again, we have two fantastic speakers lined up to provide you with expert knowledge as well as inspiration.
Our online event is open to both members and non members, and is for everyone, at whatever stage of your herbal journey you find yourself – whether you’re just curious, have a developing passion or for those who’ve been dedicated to herbalism for years.
Herbal Medicine for Menopause – how to harness the power of plants to relieve symptoms and improve your wellbeing.
Medical Herbalist and women’s health expert, Melinda McDougall will be talking about some of the key herbal medicines she uses in clinical practice to ease the menopause transition. Melinda has helped thousands of women have a happy, healthy menopause using the power of plants and a holistic approach to health. Discover how to use herbal medicines safely and effectively, learn which herbs are appropriate for specific symptoms, and hear about the latest scientific research on botanical medicines for menopause. No matter where you are on your menopause journey, there will be something here for everyone.
Melinda McDougall is a registered Medical Herbalist and women’s health specialist. She runs a busy online clinic seeing patients across the UK and beyond and combines traditional knowledge with scientific research to help women find natural solutions to their health problems. Based in London, she is the former Vice President of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, which was established in 1864. She holds a Master of Science in Herbal Medicine and has contributed to numerous podcasts, articles and books and is a regular speaker at conferences.

Herbalists Without Borders Bristol – Solidarity Medicine
We’ll also be joined by two of the founders of Herbalists Without Borders Bristol, a grassroots solidarity project dedicated to supporting refugee communities across the local area.
For the past 10 years, Becs Griffiths and Annwen Jones have worked alongside already existing refugee support groups, by offering accessible, community-based herbal care.
There are over 40 volunteers who contribute in many different ways. From visiting the projects providing herbal support, to coordinating the project, managing administration, cultivating plants in our herb garden, and preparing herbal medicines — every role plays a vital part in sustaining this work.
At its heart, Herbalists Without Borders Bristol is about connection, care, and collective action, using herbal medicine as a tool for solidarity and community wellbeing. In this talk Becs and Annwen will talk about how they set the project up, how the last ten years have been for this inspirational organisation and what they’ve learnt along the way.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday 7th September. Ticket sales close at midnight on Wednesday 21st October.
Tickets cost just £10 for members and £15 for non members. Your ticket also gives you access to the recorded version of the event. All associated costs are included in the ticket fee, including booking and transaction fees and all the money raised contributes to the costs of keeping this (nearly 100-year old) charity running. The Herb Society will also be sharing £500 of the proceeds of this event with Herbalists Without Borders Bristol to contribute to their important work.
