Professional Community Herbalist Certification
There are many ways to practise herbalism. Not every practitioner wants to work with laboratory results or complex, advanced disease, and not every person seeks support within a formal clinical setting. Yet there is a vast landscape of imbalance, wellbeing and preventative support that can be explored long before clinical intervention becomes necessary.
This is the terrain of the Community Herbalist.
Our Professional Community Herbalist Certification is the final stage of development following our three-year living herbal apprenticeship, Awaken Herbal Wisdom, and is open to continuing students.
We train safe, skilled and confident practitioners who understand the profound impact herbal medicine can have on people’s lives, whilst recognising their professional scope and knowing when to refer to a clinical practitioner or medical professional.
Building on an established comprehensive foundation in herbal medicine, the certification focuses on the professional judgement, systems, accountability and reflective practice needed to work safely and ethically with members of the public.
Accredited by The Complementary Medical Association, the course provides successful graduates with a certificate of competence, enabling them to apply for professional insurance, offer herbal medicine services to the public and charge for their work.
