As an educational charity we have a range of different activities going on at any point in time. These activities need a range of skills and experience for us to be able to deliver them. Our current opportunities to volunteer and support the work of The Herb Society are below:


Events Co-ordinator

We promote events of members and affiliated groups. Although the events of this year have meant that many events have been cancelled, this is beginning to change. This role would be the central point for receipt of events forms, sharing them through our social media (Facebook and Instagram) platforms, adding the events to our website and creating a round-up of events for each newsletter. It will involve communicating with those hosting events and the Herb Society Team.


IT Co-ordinator

We use a range of software products, including our own website (WordPress based), member managements software, Social Media platforms and are looking to expand to use new tools to help us deliver our plans (our online AGM this year is an example). We are looking for somebody to help advise on platform suitability, provide relevant training to team and volunteer members as needed and to log/ manage any issues with our provider. This role wopuld involve communicating with The Herb Society Team and, occasionally members.


Online Media Co-ordinator

The Herb Society has a strong social media reach and we are looking to extend our presence through the use of online media. This role would be working to develop our YouTube channel, identify and manage opportunities for podcasts, online channels and other virtual opportunities for us to engage with a view to help us to grow our member numbers as well as to bring fresh new benefits to our existing membership.
