As an educational charity we have a range of different activities going on at any point in time. These activities need a range of skills and experience for us to be able to deliver them. Our current opportunities to volunteer and support the work of The Herb Society are below:

Events Co-ordinator

A keen organiser with an eye for detail? This role would be the central point for events for The Herb Society as we look to offer a wider programme of online and physical events. We also promote events of members and affiliated groups. sharing them through our social media (Facebook and Instagram) platforms, adding the events to our website and creating a round-up of events for each newsletter. It will involve communicating with those hosting events, the Herb Society Team and other third parties. A strong organiser with technical know-how (social media, zoom, etc.) will help develop the strategy with the team.

Newsletter Co-ordinator

We are looking for somebody to collate news, information and updates from The Herb Society Team, members and the wider Herb community. This information is to be edited and compiled into a regular monthly newsletter. The volunteer will be given training but must be technically able and have experience of MailChimp and websites (ours is WordPress based). An understanding of member managements software and Social Media platforms tools would be beneficial as we look to expand our current communication plan. The successful volunteer would be key in the development of this communication strategy.

Online Media Co-ordinator

The Herb Society has a strong social media reach and we are looking to extend our presence through the use of online media. This role would be working to develop our YouTube channel, identify and manage opportunities for podcasts, online channels and other virtual opportunities for us to engage with a view to help us to grow our member numbers as well as to bring fresh new benefits to our existing membership.

If you are interested in supporting The Herb Society in any of these roles, please contact info@herbsociety.org.uk with the relevant role in the title and some information about yourself in the first instance.
